Denver North Wash Instructions

Quick tips:

  1. There are 3 applicators in the bay - the wand, the foam gun, and the foam brush. The instructions inside the bay have pictures that indicate which of the applicators is used for each step.

The Wand

The Foam Gun

The Foam Brush

2. When you switch from one wash option to the next, it takes about 10 seconds for the new chemicals to reach your applicator. Look out for the color change in the product to know when it’s ready to go.

3. The wash options have been listed in order on the menu, so you can just follow them in sequence.

Step 1: Mag/Bug Remover

This low pressure foam comes out white and immediately starts tackling the “hard stuff” - usually bugs and tree sap in spring/summer and the Mag Chloride in the winter. The reason that this is important in the car washing process, We start with this step because starts breaking down those hard stuck obstacles and allows them to be easily removed through the rest of the wash process.

Step 2: Tire & Engine Cleaner (applied using the wand)

Tire and engine usually follows the Mag/Bug Remover, for the sole reason that it isn’t apart of the whole car cleaning process. This chemical is designed to break down the hard to clean grease and brake dust off of the rims, and leave the wheels shiny. Similarly, it is good for the engine compartment, because it goes after the grease and buildup. This will be rinsed off in Step 6: High Pressure Rinse.

Step 3: Presoak (applied using the wand)

Presoak applies soap with low pressure. It does it’s work as it rolls down your car, dragging the dirt off with it. Similar to soaking your kitchen pots and pans, the Presoak breaks down the dirt and residue so it is easier to remove when apply pressure in the next step.

Step 4: High Pressure Wash (applied using the wand)

High Pressure Wash continues the washing process by applying soap with hot water at 1200 PSI. The hot water activates the cleaning agents within the soaps to maximize their ability to breakdown the bonds of the dirt and grime on the vehicle. The pressure aids by loosening any dirt or debris that is stuck to the vehicle.

Step 5: Foam Brush (applied using the foam brush)

The purpose of the foaming brush is the use a small amount of friction and a lot of foam to break down the last of the small bonds between the dirt and the car. These are the bonds that are created by the chemicals added to roads, or oils in the soils, that won’t just come off with soap and water. We always recommend checking the brush and cleaning it off before using it on your vehicle. Some customers choose to skip this step to keep their wash completely touch free.

Step 6: High Pressure Rinse (applied using the wand)

After applying all our soaps, we are now ready to rinse. High Pressure Rinse is delivered hot and at 1200PSI. Interestingly enough, this step is 95% water, 5% soap. The small amount of soap continues the chemical reaction between the cleaning agents and the dirt, aiding in the rinsing of the vehicle.

Step 7: Triple Foam Clear Coat Conditioner (applied using the foam gun)

This step is probably the most fun (and the least understood) in all of the car wash options. It goes on in a fancy display of colors and high amounts of foam, but it also serves an important purpose. It is a conditioning treatment for the clear coat of the vehicle. After all the dirt and grime have been removed with wash options like Presoak, High Pressure Wash, and the Foam Brush, the Clear Coat Conditioner is applied directly to the clear coat. In our experience, it’s this step that leaves your car shining for days to come.

Step 8: Wax (applied using the wand)

This is the step that really seals in all of the hard work that has gone into the washing of the vehicle. While rinsing off the extra foam from the previous step, the wax is adding a protectant layer to the vehicle. This will help keep your car looking clean for longer.

Step 9: Spot-Free Rinse (applied using the wand)

Spot free rinse is reverse osmosis treated water. The reverse osmosis process removes all the contaminations from the water. Instead of the water droplets drying on the car with particles, leading to spotting, it beads together and runs off the vehicle. An added bonus is that Spot Free Rinse lets you skip wiping down the vehicle. As you drive home, you will notice that your car has completely dried itself and, as the name implies, is spot free!
